Looking for any information on a John Gibson GRIFFITH that lived in or near Clovis in the 1890's until his death about 1932. He raised race horses and traveled as far as Hot Springs, AR where he died on the train. He was married to a Frances Elizabeth Colwell and had one son, Harry Leroy, and two daughters, Anna Jane and Eady. Anna was a long time resident of Clovis and married a Clark and maybe a Giddings. Clovis area after the death of his wife. He may have done ranch work and was
possible related to Will Roberts, who was a rancher and depot agent in the

ADAMS. Grandfather, William Harvey ADAMS, died in 1935. They moved to
Clovis after 1920 from a homestead near Rogers and Dora in Roosevelt County.
Son was Leo Adams with whom he made his home in his last years. At one time
GM and GF owned a home in the 600 block of Jones Street (or maybe Edwards).

I am looking for information about Trusten Smith. He was born in
Cartersville, GA in the mid 1800s. He accompanied Moses William Holland to
Texas in the 1890s. Moses William Holland, whose wife was Susan Virginia
Smith, settled in Buffalo, Leon Co., TX. I believe that Susan died before
they left Georgia, possibly in giving birth to my grandfather, Herman Trusten
Holland. Family tradition says that "Uncle Trust", as Trusten Smith was
affectionately known, moved on to the panhandle of Texas and was eventually
instrumental in settling the town of Melrose, NM. He supposedly ran a
company store and owned a hotel. He was badly injured in a buggy accident.
He was supposed to have died in Amarillo. Can anyone help?

Jones EDWARDS and he owned the Barber Shop in the Hotel Clovis. (He and my
grandmother Ethel Mylida THOMPSON EDWARDS lived at 205 Wallace St.)
My mother was Vera Ila EDWARDS. My father was Elmer Reuben PRIVETT and he
was a carpenter. Worked on the Jr. Hi School with the gold dome.
I would like to contact any one that may have known my family or know
anything about them. I believe that some of my Aunt's children still live
in Clovis. They would be Nesbitts. Bertie PRIVETT was married to Paul
NESBITT. Bertie was a waitress at the coffee shop at the Hotel Clovis for
as long as I can remember.

I am trying to locate information on my g-g/f, John Jefferson TEEL, who
died in Clovis, NM on 02 Feb 1907. He had a daughter with him in NM
named Myrtle TEEL. Myrtle married an Elmer WILKINS (I assume c. 1910
due to ages of other family members, and Myrtle being the youngest.)
Myrtle and Elmer had at least two sons, one of which ended up a
professor at Texas Tech University. My search into the TEEL name stops
with John Jefferson TEEL. Any info anyone may have will be greatly

Ann BANDHOLTZ (b1891, TX) who supposedly homesteaded in the Clovis, NM area in
1910. The 1910 US Census for NM is not indexed. I looked through the
individual pages of the census but could not find them - it would have been
easy to overlook them. I would appreciate any information on them, an index
to the 1910 NM Census, or how to trace a homestead application/claim. I
understand that they did not stay on the land long enough to complete their
claim requirements.

who according to legend was killed in a train accident in Clovis New
Mexico around 1937-1938. He may have been married to a Letha (Branch)
