They lived in Curry county around 1909-1930 I believe. This is when the kids were born. I don't know how many years they lived here. The kids names are Thomas Wesley, Lloyd, Floyd, Curg, Bob, Fred, Ralph, Millie, Lola Marie, Bernie, Johnnie, Cecil, Elmer, and Gladys. I can not find any record of where or when they died. John Riley Fly was born in Cherryvale, Kansas, on the 31st August 1881. He was the son of John Bryan and Sara Westfall Fly. On Dec. first 1918, John married Miss Victoria Kathrine "Dora" Graf, daughter of Carl and Monicka (Campter) Graf. From the John Riley Fly story in the High Plains History Book, p. 231. The Steed Funeral Home Index shows the date of death for John Riley Fly as Sept. 12, 1963 and the date of death for Victoria Katherine (Dora) Flye (with an e on it) as Feb. 19, 1952. Harold Kilmer

He was born about 1875 in Hancock County, Illinois, and moved with his family to Young County, Texas before 1880. The family later moved to Oklahoma, in Kiowa and Tillman Counties. Sellie moved with his own
wife and children from Tillman County, Oklahoma, to Curry County, New Mexico, between 1910 and 1920. They appear in the 1920 census in Curry County, Claud Precinct, Enumeration District 44, on census page 1054. Sellie's wife was named Allie, born about 1875, maiden name unknown. They had a daughter Lora born about 1902, a daughter Bertie born about 1905, and a son Homer born about 1910. I've found a New Mexico death index record indicating that Sellie Bennett died on 25 May 1929, and a listing for his obituaries (3 listed!) about a week later. Another obituary listed for Homer Bennett, age 58 at death, with publication of obituary on 19 Feb 1969, might be Sellie's son. That pretty much sums up all that I know about Selvin L. Bennett and his immediate family. I would be happy for any more information about this family, *especially* if such came with cites to documentation. It would also be nice to hear from any unknown kin out there in New Mexico - if you are descended from Sellie, I have an early photo of him (c.1896) that you might like to see. In the Homer Bennett story in the High Plains History Book, p. 148: "Homer Bennett, son of Mr. and Mrs. Selvin Logan Bennett, was born on June 4, 1910, in Davidson, Oklahoma. The Bennett family moved to the Claude community in 1914" - - - "His father died when he was 16 years old"- - -"His mother, Allie Pipkin Bennett, later married Mr. P. B. Hartley, of Hollene, New Mexico" Homer Bennett is buried in the Clovis Lawn Haven Cemetery (p.502 same book) On p. 553 same book there is a tombstone in the Clovis Mission Garden of Memories Cemeteries that reads: BENNETT, S. F., Feb. 24, 1874 - May 25, 1929, dad; Allie Bennett Hartley, Aug. 29, 1874 - Dec. 2, 1961, mom. Harold KIlmer
