CHS class of 1950 REUNION 2000

Subject: Reunion Highlights

What a great week-end! Friday afternoon we started gathering at the Holiday Inn and started decorating the bulletin boards with old and new pictures, newspaper articles and memorabilia. There were lots of hugs and looking at each other and thinking "WHO ARE YOU???" About 6:00 P.M. we all enjoyed a cold cut buffet. There was a Wildcat football game, so at 7:00 some went to the game. They had bleachers set up on the field for the Class of 50. (Thanks to Pete Hurst) At half time they recognized the class of 1950 and introduced the 1950 football players. Others stayed at the Holiday Inn and enjoyed visiting.

Saturday morning some of the early birds met for breakfast. Saturday morning and afternoon we started registration and did a lot of reminiscing. Some enjoyed going out to eat Mexican food. We had some members of other classes to come out and visit in the afternoon. We all enjoyed the cookies, snacks and visiting.

Saturday evening everyone gathered for our dinner and program. First we had our class picture taken. (A couple of the group didn’t make it) Then appeared the CHS cheerleaders and they gave some special cheers for the CLASS OF 50. WOW! LOUD!, and SENSATIONAL! We really rated. We then enjoyed a WONDERFUL meal. Our MC was witty Don McAlavy. He had a great trivia game for us called SURVIVORS-CLASS OF 50. Each table of 8 people were a team. Of course we had to have multiple choice. Each table tried to proclaim they were winners. Martha Woolever got the award for being the youngest class member. We sang the school song accompanied by Maxine Brake. We had a great evening.

Sunday morning several met for breakfast and good-byes. We wish all class members could have been in Clovis to enjoy the reunion. We missed you! A big thanks to Harold Kilmer for all the computer work.
