IT WAS FUN
|
Goodness gracious, what a sight. The party I went to last night. Classmates from days long gone by. Fifty years is only a sigh.
Handshakes, hugs, and maybe a few tears. For some it's been fifty years. Appearances change, but not the heart. I'm just glad I had a part.
Talking, laughing, remembering when. We forget how long it's been. Never a frown; always smiling. Maybe because the host is so beguiling. |
Grandmothers, grandfathers everyone. Should be a law against having so much fun. Wonderful time, beautiful place. Cream of the crop of the human race.
Then, oh dear, it's time to go. Leave these friends that we love so. With any luck we will be back. Sure as there's a railroad track.
A great big thanks to that special few Who do all the work; they're quite a crew. See you next time, this I surmise. The good Lord willing, and the creeks don't rise. By Paul K. Dugan, Lovington, N.M. |
