I thought you might like to post these obituaries from the Clovis News Journal, Thursday, October 3, 1974...You may want to add a disclaimer that the following has been transcribed exactly from the original with all typographical errors included (and there are a huge number of typos!).

Bryon Karsetter

   Graveside and Masonic funeral services are set at 10 a.m. Saturday at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens Cemetery for Byron Karstetter, 83, who died Tuesday, October 1, at Memorial Hospital in Clovis.  A Clovis resident since 1915, Mr. Karstetter was a retired Santa Fe Railways engineer and a 50 year member of the Clovis Masonic Lodge.
   Survivors include three brothers, Neil Karstetter, Flagstaff, Ariz., W. S. Karstetter, Buckeye, Ariz., and A. G. Karstetter, Tulsa, Okla.; and a sister , Mrs. Tresa Holman, Texerkana, Tex.
   Friends may call at the funeral home and the casket will be closed at services.
   Pallbearers will be members of Clovis Masonic Lodge No. 40.

Virginia Ann Banks

   Services are pending at Sherwood Mortuary in Clovis for Virginia Ann Banks who died in San Diego, Calif.  She was preceded in death by her father, Lonnie Strickland, on April 28, 1973 and her mother, Mrs. Lena
May Strickland, is a resident of  clovis.

William Henry Burns
   Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday at Sherwood Memorial Chapel for william Henry Burns who died Monday, Sept. 30, at Memorial Hospital in Clovis at the age of 78.
   Born Nov. 19, 1885 in Cook County, Tex, Mr. Burns was a World War I veteran and member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.  He resided at 416 Ash.
   The Rev. Glenn Lethgo will official at services and burial will be in Mission Garden of Memories Cemetery under the direction of Sherwood Mortuary.
   Survivors include the widow, Mary L. (Polly) Burns of Clovis; four sons, Feliex Burns, Liberal, Kan., Alvin Burns, Sparks, Nev., Homer Bunrs, Clovis and W. H. Burns, Phoenix Ariz.; nine daugters Delorse
Jack, Liberal, Kan., Kan., Gaytha Sandell, Liberal, Kan., Barbara Harpold, Harrisburg, Neb., Laura Casey, Klumoth Falls, Ore., Melva Dosher, Stratford, Tex., Julia Steel, Clovis, Betty Bryant, Lovington, and Gerline Miller, San Bernadino, Calif., two sisters, Mrs. Fet Alexander, Clovis and Mrs. Cecil Perkins both of Clovis; 51 grandchildren.
   Pallbearers will be Charlie Miller, Dick Sandoval, Alfred Dosher, Bob Bryant, Jerry Casey Van Harpold.
